In Uzbekistan, betting activities and their advertising are prohibited by law.
At a briefing at AIMC, Mokhrukhsor Togayeva, spokesperson for the Consumer Rights Protection Agency, reported violations of advertising legislation last year.
She noted that in order to prevent illegal advertising in 2021, about 27 thousand monitoring activities were carried out, during which 15,486 shortcomings were identified.
Today, sweepstakes, betting activities and their advertising are prohibited in the country. Of the 1,105 monitoring checks carried out for this purpose, 102 detected advertising of similar types of activities.
“In cooperation with the Agency for Information and Mass Communications, access to more than 30 sites that illegally advertise sweepstakes and betting is restricted. Work in this direction continues,” the official said.
Also, 3,416 illegal advertising banners and ads placed on boards were removed.
