Employees of People’s Bank in Andijan embezzle almost 5 billion soums
Precautionary measures were taken against 13 employees who looted the money.
Employees of the Andijan regional operations department of the People’s Bank embezzled 4.6 billion soums, UzNews.uz reported with reference to the PGO press service.
The Prosecutor General’s Office has launched a criminal case against employees of the Andijan regional operations department of People’s Bank JSC and others.
The investigation revealed that bank employees misappropriated 4.6 billion soums.
Thirteen bank employees who made up the shortfall were charged under Paragraph “a” of Article 167-3 (embezzlement in large quantities) of the Criminal Code. Eleven were detained and two were released on bail.
An investigation is underway.
