Chinese pharmaceutical company interested in strengthening co-op with Uzbekistan, plans to create plantations in Aral Sea region
The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing hosted a meeting with the leadership of China Meheco Co. Ltd., a large pharmaceutical company.
At the meeting, the Chinese side declared its readiness to expand cooperation with Uzbek partners in the field of traditional and modern medicine, the production of substances for the pharmaceutical industry of Uzbekistan and China.
Deputy General Manager of the company Wu Hao assured that he would study the new investment projects submitted by the Embassy for joint implementation, including in the special industrial zone "Uzbekistan - SCO" in Samarkand region, as soon as possible.
The Chinese side also expressed interest in implementing a project to create plantations of plants used in the pharmaceutical industry in the Aral Sea area using modern technologies and know-how.
It should be noted that China Meheco Corporation, established in 1984, specializes in the development of the pharmaceutical industry. The company’s profit in 2021 alone was more than $6.17 billion.
The company cooperates with Uzbekistan on the import of plants for the pharmaceutical industry and the preparation of substances in medicine. In 2021, about 500 tons of licorice and plant products were exported from Uzbekistan to China for a total of $2.6 million.
