Uzbekistan evacuates its citizens from Ukraine via Poland
Elderly people, women with children, students and children will be given priority during the evacuation.
Uzbeks in Ukraine are planned to be expatriated via Poland, the Uzbek Embassy in Kiev reported.
According to the embassy’s official website, Uzbeks arriving in Lviv to return home were contacted by Maruf Sadiyev, a representative of the Uzbek diaspora, and asked to provide information about themselves and relevant documents for registration.
It is noted that the citizens staying in Ukraine will be taken by bus accompanied by representatives of the embassies of Uzbekistan in Ukraine and Poland. The embassy warned Uzbek citizens planning to travel to Poland on their own that they might face problems at the border.
Among the citizens whose evacuation is planned, the following categories will be given priority and will be carried out in the first place:
• the elderly;
• women with children;
• students and children.
“We will do our best to ensure your safe evacuation,” the report said.
According to the MFA press service of Uzbekistan, the relevant Polish authorities have agreed to allow citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan to cross the state border of Poland without a visa.
Earlier, the Uzbek embassy in Kiev told Uzbeks that a list of citizens wishing to leave Ukraine was being compiled and an evacuation plan was being developed.
