Fund guaranteeing payment of alimony to be created in Uzbekistan
The Fund’s means will be allocated for the payment of alimony, which cannot be recovered from the payers within three months.
In July 2022, a Alimony Payment Fund will be created in Uzbekistan under the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement (BCE), which will initially receive 50 billion soums. This was announced by the head of state.
“Today, more than 290,000 fathers are required to pay alimony. However, 172 thousand of them refuse to fulfill their obligations to their children. As a result, alimony arrears exceeded 115 billion soums. Each khokim knows his numbers,” the President said.
It is noted that in 2021, about 70 thousand applications for the recovery of alimony were received by the People’s Reception Offices.
“The work of the Compulsory Enforcement Bureau in this regard is unsatisfactory. Now a new system will be introduced to guarantee the payment of alimony,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
These funds will be allocated for the payment of alimony, which cannot be collected within three months. Later, these amounts will be collected by the BCE from alimony payers.
