Two men trying to sell a radioactive substance for $50,000 detained in Navoi region

The perpetrators have been arrested and a criminal case has been initiated against them.

A citizen appealed to the Navoi regional DIA, who said that two citizens living in the Navbakhor district planned to sell radium for $50,000, the MIA press service reported.

The next day, law enforcers detained two men who were trying to sell 250 grams of the radioactive substance radium in a liter jar labeled “Radiy Ra 226 02 5”. They planned to get $50,000 for the radium.

On this fact, a criminal case was initiated under Paragraph “b” of Article 252-2 of the Criminal Code (Illegal possession of radioactive materials). The suspects were detained in a procedural manner.
