Wholesale consumers misappropriate gas equivalent to daily consumption of 583,000 households
During the first 15 days of March, natural gas equivalent to the daily consumption of 583 thousand households in the country was misappropriated, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported.
Reportedly, in 106 cases across the country, wholesale consumers illegally and irrationally used 7 million 864 thousand cubic meters of natural gas. As a result, the interests of gas supply companies suffered 7 billion 646 million soums.
This amount of natural gas is the daily consumption of 583 thousand households (or 1 day consumption of the total population of Fergana and Namangan regions), the report said.
Most cases of illegal use:
- In Fergana region – 5.6 million cubic meters or 5.6 billion soums;
- In Bukhara region – 1.1 million cubic meters or 1.127 billion soums;
- In Surkhandarya region – 596 thousand cubic meters of natural gas or 593 million soums.
On the above cases, relevant protocols have been drawn up and submitted to law enforcement agencies.
