France to allocate €105 million for construction and reconstruction of sewerage in Navoi and Kashkadarya
These funds will be used for the construction of sewage treatment systems and facilities for reuse of treated water in Navoi and Kashkadarya regions.
The French Development Agency will allocate €105 million to Uzbekistan for the construction, reconstruction and expansion of centralized sewerage systems in the cities of Karmana, Kitab and Shakhrisabz.
The aim of the project is to build a centralized wastewater treatment system in all three cities, including the installation of communications and collectors, the construction of a treatment plant and the installation of a wastewater treatment system suitable for reuse in irrigation.
According to the presidential decree, a loan of €24.7 million with a grace period of 20 years and a 6-year grace period will be allocated for the implementation of the project “Construction of a sewerage system in Karmana district of Navoi region”.
Uzbekistan will also allocate €3.3 million in the form of VAT refunds and customs benefits.
The project “Reconstruction and construction of the sewerage system in the city of Shakhrisabz and the district center of Kitab district of Kashkadarya region” has been allocated a loan of €80.3 million with a repayment period of 20 years, including a 6-year grace period. Uzbekistan will allocate €10.7 million in the form of benefits and VAT coverage.
