Lacetti driver detained in Samarkand for smuggling more than 0.5 kg of gold alloys
The driver was detained while transporting 15 gold-metal alloys worth almost 400 million soums to Tashkent.
According to the PGO press service, in Bulungur district, a Lacetti car, being driven by O.A., was stopped and inspected.
As a result, it was found that the car contained 15 gold-metal alloys weighing 525.9 grams and a total value of 358.2 million soums, which was seized as material evidence.
The driver picked the precious metal up from Sh.N., a resident of Navoi region, and had to deliver it to E.K., a resident of Tashkent city.
On the above fact, a criminal case under Article 177 of the Criminal Code (illegal acquisition or transfer of foreign currency) was initiated. An investigation is currently underway.
