Gov’t lifts ban on medical staff wearing hijabs and religious clothing
By order of the Minister of Health, doctors were allowed to wear hijabs and other religious clothing.
Medical personnel were banned from wearing hijabs and other religious clothing. In this regard, the order of the Minister of Health “On approval of the Ethics Code” was adopted, the deputy of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis Rasul Kusherbayev reported.
It was noted that according to Order No. 34 of the Minister of Health dated January 20, 2016, medical personnel were prohibited from wearing hijabs and other religious clothing. This command has been revoked.
According to the MP, the current legislation of Uzbekistan does not restrict citizens from wearing hijabs and other religious clothing.
