President signs law on organic products

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law “On Organic Products”.

The document regulates the production, processing, storage, transportation, labeling and sale, as well as conformity assessment and authorization of organic products.

In accordance with the law, the government will provide subsidies for the production of certified organic products, taking into account the specifics of growing crops transferred to the production of organic products.

Manufacturers of organic products may use the words “organic”, “biologic”, “ecologic” and “natural” for labeling their products.

The register of organic producers is maintained and posted on the official website of the Ministry of Agriculture.
