Gov’t prohibits individuals from engaging in mining
An appropriate presidential decree established the order of mining activity on the territory of the republic.
According to the presidential decree, now mining can be carried out only by a legal entity using electricity generated by a solar photovoltaic plant.
When using electricity connected to a single power system:
• payment for energy consumed is made by a factor of 2 times the established tariff;
• additional payments established by the Cabinet of Ministers shall be applied to the relevant tariffs for the maximum period of electricity consumption;
• accounting of consumed electricity is carried out by installing a separate metering device.
It was noted that promising projects in mining will be subject to mandatory registration by the national agency.
Registration of persons engaged in mining (miners) is carried out only in e-form, via the Internet. Miners have the right to carry out their activities only at the address specified during registration, in compliance with fire safety and sanitary norms and regulations.
Mining must be registered by the National Agency for Prospective Projects.
