An individual detained in Nukus for selling 2 kg of heroin for $90,000 

Territorial departments of the State Security Service have prevented the sale of narcotic substances imported into Uzbekistan from neighboring countries.

It was noted that a resident of Turtkul district (born in 1988) was detained while bringing 2 kg 10 g of heroin from Samarkand to Nukus and selling it to a buyer for $90,000. It turned out that the drug was smuggled into Uzbekistan by a Tajik drug courier.

In addition, the staff of the Tashkent city SSS Department, in cooperation with customs and law enforcement agencies, conducted a number of operative events. In particular, during a search of the apartment of a person convicted of a previous drug-related crime (born in 1964), who lives in Uchtepa district, it was found that 1 kg 924 g of opium was hidden in the ceiling of his house, the report reads.

It turns out that this drug was brought by third parties from Tajikistan. It was also found out that there was 1 air pistol in the apartment without proper documents.

It was noted that in another case in the Uchtepa district, illegal activities of three people born in Surkhandarya region were stopped. Allegedly, they were involved in the sale of drugs smuggled from Tajikistan to Tashkent – 943 grams of hashish were seized from them.

Moreover, narcotic substances and potent drugs smuggled from Kyrgyzstan into the country were found. In particular, a Lacetti car was stopped for inspection at the entrance to the capital, at the “SHARQ” traffic patrol station. Two passengers in the vehicle (born in 1976 and 1997), living in the Fergana district of Fergana region, were detained as they were carrying 939 grams of hashish with them, the report said.

Also, at an operative event organized by employees of the State Security Service in cooperation with the Tashkent city department of the Customs Committee, two citizens of Tashkent (born in 1977 and 1995) were detained in the Chilanzar district while selling 560 units of Regapen and 100 units of Tropicamide for 26 million soums. 

Their accomplice (born in 2002) was also detained. 1,540 Regapen, 630 Tropicamide and 30 Cellophene potent drugs were confiscated from his temporary residence.

A car traveling on the route “Kuvasoy-Tashkent” was stopped and inspected at the Namangan traffic police station. As a result, a resident of Kuvasoy (born in 1997) was found to have 840 units of Regapen and 240 units of Tropicamide – the drugs were confiscated in the procedural order.

On the aforementioned facts, criminal proceedings have been instituted under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code. At present, an investigation is underway.
