Pensioners and certain categories of citizens to receive one-time financial assistance

The President signed a resolution “On additional measures for targeted support of the population in need of social protection”.

According to the document, lump-sum material assistance at the expense of the state budget will be provided to recipients of pensions and old-age benefits, pensions and disability benefits, benefits for the disabled since childhood, each family member of the recipient of the survivor’s pension and benefit, as well as recipients of benefits for caring for a disabled child under the age of 18, who need outside care:

- in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regions – 300 thousand soums; 
- in the city of Tashkent – 400 thousand soums. 

Recipients of pensions at the expense of the republican budget, appointed by other bodies, receive one-time financial assistance from the relevant ministries and departments on the terms and in the amounts provided for by this document. 

In addition, families receiving material assistance as low-income families, as well as each child under 18 years old from families receiving child benefits as low-income families, appointed through the Unified Register of Social Protection information system, will be paid 200,000 soums. 

Persons, entitled to receive one-time financial assistance in several categories, will be paid one-time financial assistance for each category. 

The Cabinet of Ministers, the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, the khokimiyats of the regions and the city of Tashkent, the Central Bank and commercial banks were instructed to ensure the full payment of lump-sum material assistance payments determined by this resolution within two weeks. 

Citizens, who did not receive lump-sum financial assistance funds in a timely manner due to temporary absence from their permanent residence address or other circumstances, are entitled to receive unpaid material assistance funds until September 1 of the current year. 

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, khokims of regions, the city of Tashkent, districts (cities) and heads of sectors were instructed to: 

- create a list of needy families included in the “Temir daftar” that did not receive one-time financial assistance on the basis of this resolution, provide 20 kilograms of flour to each member of these families free of charge at the expense of the “Kindness and Support” Fund; 
- ensure the regular provision of flour free of charge or the provision of material assistance in the form of cash to families in difficult social situations at the expense of the “Kindness and Support” Fund and other sources. 

At the same time, during 2022, local authorities, together with mahalla chairmen and assistants to khokims, were instructed to study the condition of low-income families in each mahalla on an ongoing basis.
