Health Minister of Uzbekistan invites WHO Director General to visit our country
As part of the participation of the delegation of Uzbekistan in the work of the 75th session of the World Health Assembly, a bilateral meeting was held between the Minister of Health Behzod Musayev and WHO Director General Tedres Ghebreyesus.
At the meeting, the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) got acquainted in detail with the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan.
Thanks were expressed to WHO for assisting Uzbekistan in ensuring equal access to vaccines within the framework of the COVAX initiative.
In order to further expand cooperation between the republic and WHO, as well as to familiarize locally with the whole range of reforms in the country in the field of healthcare, the director general was invited to personally visit Uzbekistan in the near future.
The head of WHO recalled with particular warmth his recent meeting with the leadership of the Board of Trustees of the Mass Media Foundation in Geneva.
A significant improvement in the healthcare system in recent years was noted and the readiness of the organization’s experts to provide all possible assistance to the government of Uzbekistan in the implementation of the initiated large-scale reforms in the health sector was indicated.
