Asian Cup U23: National team of Uzbekistan ends the match against Iran in a draw in Karshi
In the third round of the Asian Cup U23, the game of the Olympic team of Uzbekistan gathered a record number of spectators.
Despite the fact that Timur Kapadze’s team beat Qatar in the second round and left the group ahead of schedule, the main arena of the region was full of fans before the game. 19,876 spectators gathered at the stadium, which is a record for the last decade.
In the match, Kapadze, unlike Tashkent, released almost the second squad. At the 22nd minute, after the goal of Otabek Jurakuziyev, the stadium roared – 1:0.
However, in the 62nd minute of the second half, the Persians equalized, Oriyon Yusufi scored a goal – 1:1.
The score did not change until the end of the match. Consequently, our team scored 7 points in Group A and advanced to the quarterfinals from the first place. At this stage, Uzbekistan will play with Iraq on June 11.
