Exchange price of sugar down by 26.1%

In Uzbekistan, the exchange price for sugar has stabilized.

According to the press service of the Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, following the results of open trading held on June 10-14, the daily average price for sugar of all categories decreased from 14,554.5 thousand soums to 10,754.9 thousand soums per ton of products, or by 26.1%.

During the period under review, 6,004 tons of sugar were put up on the stock exchange, of which the entire volume was sold.

Khorazm Shakar LLC sold 3,000 tons of sugar through exchange trading and Angren Shakar LLC – 3,004 tons of sugar.

In the purchase of sugar, a balanced distribution of goods among regions is formed, depending on the level of demand.

Previously, the Ministry of Agriculture reported that the cost of one ton of sugar as of June 1 of this year amounted to 12,500.1 thousand soums, and as of June 10, the price of sugar reached 14,554.5 thousand soums, an increase of 16.4% (2,054.4 thousand soums). 

In total, from June 1 to June 10, 2022, 19,646.0 tons of sugar were sold, an average of 2,455.8 tons per day. In particular, at the beginning of the month, 3,000 tons of sugar were sold on the exchange, while on June 10 sugar was sold by 2,002 tons, or 33.3% (998 tons) less.

In the first ten days of June this year, the minimum price of sugar sold at the commodity exchange amounted to 11,984.7 thousand soums per ton, the maximum – 14,554.5 thousand soums, and the average price – 13,108.4 thousand soums.

The smallest volume of sugar offered at exchange auctions fell on June 7-8 (2,000 tons). The largest volume (3,072 tons) was sold on June 3. During this period, an average of 2,456 tons of sugar was sold per day.
