Position of deputy khokim for innovation to be introduced in 27 districts and cities
The innovative development strategy of Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 was approved. This is reflected in the presidential decree PF-165 of July 6.
The decree was adopted in order to “accelerate innovative development in the country, wide application of innovations and technologies in all sectors of the economy, development of human capital, science and innovation”.
In 2022-2026, the main directions of the innovative development strategy of Uzbekistan were defined as:
• supporting start-up initiatives and organizing large-scale production (capital creation) by forming a network of innovative infrastructure entities (innovative technological park, technology transfer center, innovative cluster, venture organization, innovation center, startup accelerator, incubator);
• increasing the share of innovative active organizations by improving the institutional mechanisms of state support for innovative activities;
• ensuring rapid socio-economic growth of regions by increasing the innovative activity of small businesses;
• stimulating the demand for innovations by providing a comprehensive system of creating new types of products and innovative technologies from the idea to the final consumer;
• formation of a system of reorientation of created capital to "fundamentally renewing" innovations;
• further development of human capital in the management of innovative activities by developing creativity, innovative entrepreneurship and rationalization skills at all stages of education.
The strategy will be implemented starting from 2024 on the basis of the “Roadmap”, which will be approved separately. In this, the main directions are formed according to the achieved results and target indicators.
Earlier, by the presidential decree, the post of deputy khokim of Chust district of Namangan region was introduced for issues of innovation development.
Cooperation between regional departments of the Ministry of Innovative Development and deputy khokims of relevant districts on innovative development issues will be established.
In addition, the Ministry of Innovative Development was entrusted with the tasks of conducting an annual rating of the results of the innovative activities of economic sectors, regions, scientific and higher education organizations, evaluating the scientific activity of scientific and higher education organizations, and developing new systems of financing new scientific development and technology creation projects.
Besides, the Ministry maintains a register of contracts related to the direct purchase of innovative products and services carried out through the e-cooperation portal, and supports the introduction of innovations in investment projects, the completion of investment projects developed in the regions with technological solutions, and investment in these areas.
