The press service of the Supreme Court informed Kun.uz that the decision regarding Olimjon Khaydarov issued on July 22 by the Kokand city court on criminal proceedings was canceled and the case was sent to the Kokand city DIA for further investigation.

Thus, the blogger, who was imprisoned for 15 days in the first instance, was released two days later. The court issued a verdict to collect 90,000 soums for the days he was detained administratively (two days).

The part of the court verdict of first instance concerning Komil Akhmedov was left unchanged.

Talking to the Kun.uz reporter, Olimjon Khaydarov said that blogger Komil Akhmedov, who was imprisoned with him, is dissatisfied with the ruling. At the same time, he plans to file a cassation appeal to the Supreme Court.

“There was no evidence against me in the first trial either. My name and surname were distributed under that post. Therefore, the case was returned for further investigation.

Now Komil wants to file a cassation appeal to the Supreme Court,” Olimjon Khaydarov said.

It should be recalled that on July 22, two bloggers from Fergana, Olimjon Khaydarov and Komiljon Akhmedov, were accused of distributing materials promoting religious enmity and sentenced administratively to 15 days in prison.

According to the expert opinion of the Committee on Religious Affairs, the text of the post distributed by the bloggers was found to be a false assessment of the activities of representatives of state agencies and to promote religious enmity among citizens who believe in the religion of Islam against citizens who believe in the Christian religion.
