Fergana man arrested for attempting to smuggle 44 iPhones worth 900 million UZS
Authorities in Fergana have apprehended an individual attempting to illegally import 44 iPhone 16 Pro Max smartphones with an estimated value of 900 million UZS.
The arrest took place during a routine operation conducted by law enforcement in the Fergana district. Officers stopped a Lacetti vehicle for inspection and discovered the smartphones concealed inside the car’s cabin and trunk. The phones, manufactured abroad, lacked the necessary customs clearance documents.
The smartphones, valued at approximately 900 million UZS, were seized, and customs authorities have launched a pre-investigation inquiry into the matter.
