The amount of stolen fuel at 28 regional gas stations is equivalent to one-month gas consumption of 209,000 households.
In the course of the next control activities held in June-July of this year, employees of the State Security Service in cooperation with Uzneftgazinspektsiya and Uztransgaz JSC discovered a number of violations in the use of natural gas at CNG filling stations, the press service of the Energy Ministry reported.
It was noted that cases of illegal use of natural gas have been detected in a number of regions. In particular, 3 CNG filling stations in Bukhara misappropriated natural gas worth 2.2 billion soums, 2 in Samarkand – 3.3 billion soums, 5 in Syrdarya – 3.6 billion soums, 17 in Jizzakh – 31.3 billion soums, and 1 in Kashkadarya – 1.5 billion soums.
The origin of the violations was related to the external influence on the indicators in the measurement systems of the CNG filling stations.
Based on the calculations, it was revealed that the amount of damage caused to the state interests by these enterprises accounted for 41.9 billion soums, or natural gas equivalent to one-month consumption of about 209,000 households in the summer season was used illegally.
