Japan donates modern tomography scanners and a medical container to Uzbekistan
On August 1, as part of its program of assistance to economic and social development, Japan handed over to Uzbekistan three scanners for computed tomography and a mobile medical diagnostic container made using advanced technologies.
The Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Epidemiology, Microbiology, Infectious and Parasitic Diseases hosted an event dedicated to the transfer by the Government of Japan of modern equipment for computed tomography and a specially equipped medical container.
The event was attended by the Minister of Health Behzod Musayev, a member of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament Keiji Furuya, Ambassador of Japan to Uzbekistan Yoshinori Fujiyama.
The equipment was transferred to the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan through a 500 million yen grant allocated to the country in March 2020. In particular, Aquilion Prime SP 160 CT scanners and one specially equipped SANSEI treatment and diagnostic container were handed over to three medical institutions.
Modern computed tomography scanners were donated to the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Epidemiology, Microbiology, Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, as well as the clinic of the Bukhara State Medical Institute.
The medical diagnostic container was given to the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care.
“The particular advantage of this CT scanner is that it can be used to perform a comprehensive examination of patients. In addition, the ability to control this equipment allows one to obtain high-quality images with minimal radiation exposure,” the report says.
The SANSEI treatment and diagnostic container is an independent mobile diagnostic complex that operates offline and is equipped with computed tomography, ultrasound diagnostics and X-ray devices.
