Several trees damaged as a result of road works in Tashkent, prosecutor’s office initiated a criminal case
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 3, Article 198 of the Civil Code against a group of people who damaged 7 oak trees in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent.
They were carrying out road widening works in the district.
According to Saidahror Abdurahmanov, deputy prosecutor of the Chilanzar district, if immediate measures are not taken, it is possible for trees to wither and damage to nature will amount to 348.9 million soums.
This crime is punishable by a fine of 150-200 BCAs (45-60 million soums) or 300 to 360 hours of compulsory community service or 2 to 3 years of correctional work or 1 to 3 years of restriction of liberty or up to 3 years of imprisonment.
In case of 3 times compensation of the material damage (348.9 million soums), the punishment in the form of restriction of liberty and deprivation of liberty shall not be applied.
