Uzbekistan’s cycling team wins first gold medal at “Konya-2021” games
The 5th Islamic Solidarity Games have been going on in Konya, Turkey for several days.

On August 7, the delegation of Uzbekistan won its first gold medal in this competition. Our compatriot Olga Zabelinskaya celebrated the championship with the best result in the track cycling race. Also, our representative Yanina Kuskova, who started in this direction, won another silver medal.
Before that, the members of our delegation won 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. Now a gold and another silver medal will be added to them.
Previous medal winners:
ꞏ Yanina Kuskova (track cycling in individual pursuit race) - silver medal;
ꞏ Alexey Fomovsky (track cycling in individual pursuit race) – bronze medal;
ꞏ Sofia Karimova (scratch group race) - bronze medal.
For information, the Islamic Solidarity Games will continue until August 18. Along with representatives of 55 countries, 265 local athletes are participating in the competition.
