Prosecutor’s office investigator in Tashkent sentenced to 13 years in prison for taking $50,000 in bribe
The investigator of the Uchtepa district prosecutor’s office demanded $50,000 in return for not applying a preventive measure in the form of imprisonment against the head of an LLC.
The official demanded a bribe from the head of an enterprise specializing in construction and repair work. He did not detain the man within the framework of the earlier initiated criminal case.
The investigator is charged under Article 210 of the Criminal Court (Bribery). The Yashnabad District Court for Criminal Cases considered the materials of the case and issued a verdict.
Reportedly, the defendant was found guilty of committing a crime under Paragraph “A”, Part 3, Article 210 of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 13 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold leadership positions and work in the prosecutor’s office for a period of 3 years.
