Recidivist kills a 14-year-old girl in Syrdarya
Khovos district prosecutor’s office initiated a criminal case under Part 1, Article 97 of the Criminal Code. The suspect is detained in a procedural order.
Hayot Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the Prosecutor General’s Office, informed Kun.uz that on August 20, 2022 at 4:00 a.m., an unknown person sneaked into one of the houses on Minor Street, Khovos district and stabbed a 14-year-old girl lying in the bedroom with a knife while looking for money and valuables from the rooms.
Then the murderer continued to look for money and threatened a 78-year-old woman who was preparing for evening prayer in another room of the house with a knife and demanded valuables from her. However, after realizing there was nothing worthy to steal, he fled the scene.
On this fact, the prosecutor’s office of the Khovos district initiated a criminal case under Part 1, Article 97 of the Criminal Code.
During the investigation carried out, it was found that a person who was born in Namangan region in 1997 and had been convicted several times before committed the crime. The last time he was convicted in 2018 for committing a crime of invasion and is currently serving a sentence in the address colony.
It is noted that the suspect is detained in a procedural manner. An investigation is currently underway.
