Private investors to be attracted to Aydar-Arnasay system of lakes

The winner must invest at least $30 million. Applications are accepted until September 7.

The Ministry of Water Resources has announced a tender for the transfer of the Aydar-Arnasay lake system to trust management, Spot reported.

Local companies without a state share in the authorized capital can participate in the competition. The applicant must have experience in breeding unique fish species and fish processing technology. In addition, during 2022-2026, the investor must:

•  invest funds in the amount of at least $30 million;
•  increase the annual volume of fish catch to 15,000 tons and to breed an additional 5,000 tons by installing ocean cages;
•  launch a fish production complex on the territory of Tuzkan Lake and an enterprise for processing 3 thousand tons of fish per year;
•  open a laboratory center with foreign experts to increase fish stocks in salt water;
•  create 1,000 fish processing jobs;
•  increase tourism potential, in particular in the field of amateur and sports fishing tourism;
•  completely clean the collector and drainage networks of the system, etc.

If all the requirements in the agreement are met, the trust management will be extended for 49 years (until 2071).

The competition is held in accordance with the February decree of the President. The directorate of the system of lakes was also reorganized into an LLC with the founder of the Ministry of Water Resources – now it holds open tenders for the transfer of reservoirs sections for rent.

To participate in the competition, the applicant must submit an application to the Ministry of Water Resources. The application must be accompanied by a business plan (including market analysis and profit forecast), information about work experience in the field and other necessary documents.

Hard copy of documents must be sent to the Ministry (address: 100187, Tashkent, Mirzo-Ulugbek district, Karasu-4, building 11). The deadline for sending is no later than 16:00, September 7.
