Five district governors dismissed from office
On September 27, Sardor Umurzakov, head of the Presidential Administration, held a videoconference meeting to discuss social and administrative issues.
At the meeting, Umurzakov criticized some ministers and governors.
“The results of the studies and the information we received from various sources show that some ministers and governors have abused their official power.
Some regional, district and city mayors, responsible heads of ministries and departments are behaving like khans, as if they were inoculated against legal liabilities,” said Umurzakov.
Reportedly, the director of the “Uzbekchorvanasl” agency Bakhtiyor Otamurodov, governors of Fergana, Andijan, Asaka, Pakhtaobod and Nurobod districts have been dismissed from office for non-compliance with the rules of ethics, abusing their official power and for shortcomings in their work.
