Social networks disseminated news that a convict had been brutally murdered in the penal colony No. 4 in the city of Navoi.
The prosecutor’s office of Navoi region studied the circumstances of the incident and reported that on October 7, at about 01:35, in the cell of the disciplinary department of the colony, convicted M.O. committed suicide. Allegedly, he made a rope with the help of his personal clothes and hung himself on the back of an iron bed.
It is noted that M.O. was convicted in 2018 under Article 25 (Assassination) through Article 97 (Intentional Murder) of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 15 years in prison. As it turned out, earlier M.O. was convicted four times under the Articles of the Criminal Code.
On the fact of suicide in the colony, the Navoi Special Prosecutor’s Office is conducting a pre-investigation check. A forensic medical examination has been assigned.
