Students from Uzbekistan, who study at the Kursk State Medical University of the Russian Federation, turned to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev through a video.
One of the students said that the Kursk Oblast borders on the Sumy region of Ukraine, in turn, the effect of the “special operation” is felt in the Oblast.
“Shells hit Tyotkino every day. The Kursk nuclear power plant, which is located 30 km from us, has already been attacked three times,” he said.
According to him, in neighboring Belgorod, most of the population was evacuated, and education was transferred to online mode. In addition, the student recalled that in March, the Kazakh authorities returned Kazakh students to study home. At the same time, the situation was still stable.
“Dear Shavkat Mirziyoyev, we ask you to transfer our studies to medical universities in Uzbekistan,” the students said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan responded to the students’ video message.
“In connection with the appeal of Uzbek students studying at universities in the Kursk Oblast of the Russian Federation, we inform you that diplomats from the Uzbek embassy left for the Kursk Oblast to study the situation and solve existing problems,” the MFA said in its statement.
The diplomats promised to report on the results later.
According to the Kremlin press service, on October 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin held an operative meeting via videoconferencing with permanent members of the Security Council. Then he said that the special services of Ukraine staged three terrorist attacks at the Kursk nuclear power plant.
“Ukraine’s special services have also carried out three terrorist attacks against Russia’s Kursk nuclear power plant, repeatedly undermining the power plant’s high-voltage lines,” Putin said.
Recently, the governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, said that residents of the village of Tetkino, who were injured during the shelling, are in critical condition. According to him, a man and a woman suffered from shelling by the armed forces of Ukraine.
“I visited the village of Tyotkino in the Glushkovsky district, which came under shelling yesterday... A two-story residential building with 21 apartments was significantly damaged. At the time of arrival, there were 7 people in the building. A married couple was wounded, they were hospitalized by helicopter to Kursk yesterday,” the governor wrote on his Telegram channel on October 11.
