Uzbekistan and Russia strengthen cooperation in combating crime

During the visit, Krasnov met with Uzbekistan's Prosecutor General, Nigmatilla Yuldashev, to discuss the dynamic and multidimensional partnership between the two prosecutorial bodies. Yuldashev highlighted that this relationship aligns with the long-term goals set by the leaders of both nations.

Krasnov reflected on previous engagements, including the April meeting in Moscow and gatherings under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General, as key milestones. He proposed reforms to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Council of Prosecutors General to address modern threats and challenges more effectively.

"We should expand the Secretariat of the Council by including representatives from all CIS prosecutorial bodies to respond swiftly to emerging risks," Krasnov stated. He also suggested involving institutional educational establishments in future collaborative initiatives.

Highlighting Uzbekistan’s advancements in law enforcement technologies, Krasnov commended the developments at Uzbekistan’s Law Enforcement Academy, particularly in applying digital tools to prosecutorial activities. He expressed confidence that such expertise could be beneficial across the region.

The Russian prosecutor proposed organizing exchange programs for prosecutors and educators starting next year to further enhance skills and knowledge sharing.

The discussions also emphasized the importance of combating cybercrime and organized crime, as well as preventing legal violations. Both sides agreed to strengthen collaboration in incorporating information and communication technologies into prosecutorial work and advancing professional training programs for their staff.

This visit reinforced the shared commitment of Uzbekistan and Russia to combat crime and foster mutual learning in addressing evolving security challenges.
