It should be noted that in 2019, within the framework of our president’s visit to Japan, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Japanese Ministries of Justice, Health, Labor and Welfare, Foreign Affairs, and the Japanese National Police Agency.
As part of the Japanese government’s state program to attract more than 350,000 foreign workers to the country by 2025, in 2019, Uzbekistan joined the cooperation among 9 countries.
According to this agreement, the two countries will cooperate on the implementation of the system of hiring foreign labor resources with the status of “specially qualified workers”.
The delegation members first held talks with the representatives of the company “Shimizu Corporation” in Tokyo regarding the issues of labor migration.
In particular, at the meetings held with the leaders of the Japanese company “JITCO” and the “Organization for the Improvement of the Qualifications of Foreign Technical Trainees” (OTIT), the issues of attracting technical trainees from Uzbekistan on a large scale and the legal and social protection of our labor migrants in Japan were discussed, and future plans were determined.
During the meeting with the Minister of Justice of Japan, Sadakazu Tanigaki, the issues of helping to protect the rights and interests of the citizens of Uzbekistan working in the foreign country were discussed.
Negotiations were held with the leadership of the Japanese immigration service on the safe, orderly and legal labor migration of Uzbekistan citizens to this country.
Also, in order to ensure safe, orderly and legal labor migration of our citizens to Japan, within the framework of the “Labor potential of Uzbekistan” exhibition week organized for the heads of about 40 large employer companies and corporations in Japan, the Foreign Labor Migration Agency and the Japanese organization “Lance Corporation” a memorandum was signed between them.
At the exhibition on “Labor potential of Uzbekistan” held in Nagoya, contracts on labor migration and vocational training were signed with “Man to Man”, “Aichi education center”, “Link Asia cooperative” and other companies.
In the meeting with Nagoya Parliament Chairman Takahiro Iwamoto and Nagoya-Uzbekistan Friendship League Chairman Yoshiro Watanabe, issues of implementation of agreements reached during the official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Japan in 2019 and further development of cooperation in the field of labor migration were discussed.
