Termez airport to be temporarily closed
Termez international airport in Surkhandarya region will be closed for two months.
According to the press service of Uzbekistan Airports, from November 1 to December 25 of this year, Termez international airport will temporarily suspend its work in connection with preparations for the commissioning of a new airfield complex.
Reportedly, at the moment the construction of a new runway with a length of 3,000 meters and a width of 60 meters has been fully completed.
“Within almost two months, work will have to be done to connect taxiways with a new runway and apron, as well as to install a new CAT-I ICAO lighting equipment system, weather and radio navigation landing systems,” the company said.
