President: We must continue to implement the tasks of developing the Uzbek language
Today, October 21, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the people of the country on the Uzbek Language Day.
“Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you on today’s wonderful holiday - the Uzbek Language Day. For every person, the native language, which determines his self-consciousness and spiritual world, is as sacred as the Motherland where he grew up,” the head of state said.
The President recalled that the outstanding scientist Makhmud Kashgari, one of the first to study the ancient Turkic language from a scientific point of view, wrote: “Language is the beginning of all virtues”, and these words have a special, deep meaning.
“Indeed, all the noble qualities of a person are formed primarily on the basis of an incomparable miracle - the native language, its charm and beauty. Today, the careful preservation and development of this priceless wealth, a mirror of the soul and intellectual potential of our people, is one of the most important tasks for us,” he said.
Mirziyoyev said that in Uzbekistan, following the wise admonition of the great poet and thinker Alisher Navoi: “Caring for the language is caring for the people”, the state policy in the field of language is being carried out in full harmony with fundamental reforms aimed at ensuring the interests of a person, his honor and dignity as the highest value.
In recent years, a new stage has begun in the republic in the development of the Uzbek language, increasing its role and place in life. In particular, the establishment of October 21 as the Uzbek Language Day was an unforgettable, historical event.
“It should be emphasized that the recently adopted laws define the procedure for issuing advertising and other similar materials in the state language, specific requirements for the level of knowledge of the Uzbek language for entering the civil service.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to all our selfless compatriots who make a worthy contribution to the noble cause of preserving and developing our native language, which is a symbol of our national identity and pride. Once again, I sincerely congratulate all of you on the Uzbek Language Day, I wish good health, happiness, peace and prosperity to your families,” the head of state concluded.
