Dmitry Gordon apologizes to people of Uzbekistan, thanks for their support

Well-known journalist Dmitry Gordon apologized to the people of Uzbekistan.

It should be recalled that the other day on the YouTube channel “Visiting Gordon” there was an interview with a Russian-Israeli businessman, one of the former heads of the Yukos oil company, Leonid Nevzlin.

During an interview, Dmitry Gordon stated that, according to his information, Iranian drones are being produced in Iraq and Uzbekistan. Nevzlin confirmed this fact. Gordon also asked about the possibility of Israeli strikes on factories in Iran, Iraq and Uzbekistan where drones are manufactured and assembled.

“Iranian military drones are assembled at military factories in Iraq and Uzbekistan before their delivery to Russia. Now they are trying or are already delivering ground-to-ground missiles. This is already separate news. Recently, two members of the Iranian army, a colonel and a general, were killed. They are said to be responsible for producing drones in Iran. These things don’t happen by accident,” Nevzlin said on October 26 during an interview with Gordon.

Later, Dmitry Gordon said that he confused Uzbekistan with Tajikistan.

“In fact, I did not mean Uzbekistan, but Tajikistan. And my tongue uttered the word – Uzbekistan. It is known that there is a drone factory in Uzbekistan, but there is no evidence that it is connected with Iran. Therefore, I meant Tajikistan. I want to reiterate this now. I mean, in Tajikistan, the Iranians produce drones that the Russians then use to kill Ukrainians,” he said.

At the same time, Dmitry Gordon asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan to refute this information if it is not true.

“As for Uzbekistan, I want to repeat again, I do not want to cast a shadow on the state of Uzbekistan. What can we say about Uzbeks and citizens of Uzbekistan, whom I sincerely respect and love. This is a land that is famous for its hospitality, warmth and cordiality, a land that sheltered a huge number of Ukrainians during the Second World War. I want to reiterate with great love that Uzbekistan has nothing to do with the information that I have made public that Iranian drones are allegedly produced there,” he said.

The journalist again addressed the people of Uzbekistan.

“Dear Uzbeks, I want to thank you for your concern for the tragedy of Ukraine, which is now happening due to the attack of fascist Russia. Thank you for your support,” he concluded.

In May, it became known that an enterprise for the production of Iranian drones was opened in Tajikistan.

Earlier, the State Committee for Defense Industry of Uzbekistan denied the information that Uzbekistan is an assembly site for Iranian combat drones that are used in the armed conflict in Ukraine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan appealed to the official authorities of Ukraine.
