Kazakhstan to become overseas production base for Turkish ANKA drones
Kazakhstan is set to host production and maintenance facilities for Turkish-made ANKA drones under an agreement signed during a state visit by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Astana.
The deal was concluded on May 14 following talks between Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. It was among 13 agreements signed in the presence of both leaders.
Earlier reports had suggested Kazakhstan would become the first overseas production base for the ANKA drone system. The agreement covers joint production, maintenance, repair, and technology transfer.
The ANKA is a medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle used for reconnaissance and strike missions. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 1,700 kg, a payload capacity of up to 350 kg, an endurance of up to 30 hours, and an operating altitude of up to 9,000 meters.
