“How long will they steal gas?”: Sardor Umurzakov instructs to check methane gas stations

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, having learned about the dissatisfaction of entrepreneurs with the shutdown of gas supply to greenhouses, assigned a corresponding task to the head of administration Sardor Umurzakov to consider this issue. At a meeting chaired by the head of administration, a lot of criticism was expressed. An audio recording of the meeting was later circulated online.

As it turned out, the head of administration regarded the actions of the officials who turned off the gas to the greenhouses as “violence” and the fact that when the gas is turned off, only 1.5% of the resource can be saved, but the level of exports decreases at places, jobs are lost.

“Entrepreneurs arrived in Tashkent yesterday, the regional gas supply organizations turned off their gas without warning... If you ask them now, they will say that we warned them. How did you warn them: you went, warned them and immediately turned off the gas. Many of our entrepreneurs paid for gas in advance. This aroused justified objections. Again, the entrepreneur is bad, but then who is good? That gas service employee who forcibly turned off the gas?

We decided to sacrifice the weakest and most unresponsive link. We saved 1.5% of gas, because of this you “killed” exports and jobs, the businessman goes bankrupt without repaying the loan. Then what will they do? Who will answer this? It was not in vain that I called the leaders of the State Security Service. Is this a threat to national security or not? Who will restore exports to the state tomorrow? Who will restore the entrepreneur’s income, who will return the loan?” Umurzakov said.

During the meeting, it became known that greenhouses were disconnected from gas in 4 regions – mainly in Bukhara, Navoi, Samarkand and Tashkent regions.

Sardor Umurzakov gave instructions to Saidlaziz Saidkarimov, Head of the Control Inspectorate of the Presidential Administration, Bakhodir Turabov, First Deputy Chairman of the Accounts Chamber, and Nigmatulla Yuldashev, Prosecutor General.

“Your task is to find out what the heads of Khududgaz departments were doing in these regions. On the basis of what they did so, you will check their activities. If there is even the slightest sign of a crime, they should be prosecuted without further ado. Within the law. You wrote to me, a warning, a reprimand... “Justifications” should not slip away. If he instructs against his leader, he must also be held accountable. It doesn’t matter who he is, the chairman or the deputy,” the head of administration said.

According to him, about 10,000 residents receive a steady income and work at the expense of greenhouses, which were previously disconnected from gas.

“What will happen to them? 10,000 people mean 50,000 people with their families. So many people are dissatisfied and brought to the level of poverty. Tomorrow, 50,000 people will appear streets. Why and who needs it? How much gas is stolen and sold by SNG stations? It is high time to raise all these issues and hold everyone accountable. How long will they steal gas? On the other hand, why should people who work honestly, voluntarily and risking their lives, be left without bread and suffer? These are just the ones that got stopped the gas supply illegally. Check everything, CNG stations and others. It doesn’t matter who he is. We will return the stolen gas to the penny,” he said.

After that, the person who reported to Sardor Umrzakov, who is believed to be an official, said that 48 greenhouses were connected to gas at the moment and connection work was ongoing.

“Today you will write me a letter of guarantee, under which you will write the name of each greenhouse. Even if one is left without gas, then do not be offended,” the head of the administration addressed him.

Earlier it was reported that Shavkat Mirziyoyev, having learned about the dissatisfaction of entrepreneurs with the shutdown of gas supply to greenhouses, immediately sent an appropriate task to the head of administration Sardor Umurzakov to consider this issue.

It turned out that “Khududgaztaminot” JSC disconnected 268 greenhouses from natural gas on a total area of 700 hectares. As a result, 70 thousand tons of crops will be lost, 30 million dollars of exports, and most importantly, about 10 thousand people working in greenhouses disconnected from gas may lose their jobs.
