President Mirziyoyev extends condolences to Qatar’s emir over deadly gas plant explosion

According to the presidential press service, Mirziyoyev expressed deep sympathy and solidarity to the families and loved ones of the victims, while wishing a swift recovery to those injured in the disaster.

The incident occurred on June 21 at a major gas processing plant within Qatar’s industrial hub. Qatari officials reported that the powerful blast claimed the lives of at least 13 people and left another 66 individuals with varying degrees of injuries.

Qatar’s Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, confirmed that the explosion took place at the Barzan gas facility. He emphasized that the incident was an industrial accident and was not linked to sabotage or hostile actions.

The Ras Laffan complex serves as a critical cornerstone of Qatar’s energy infrastructure. The Gulf nation stands among the world’s largest producers and exporters of liquefied natural gas.
