Two new 900 MW power units to be built at Talimarjan TPP
Power increase project is being implemented with the support of partners from Spain and Japan.
Talimarjan TPP is planned to be supplemented with new capacities, Spot reports referring to the press service of the Energy Ministry.
The “Thermal Power Plants” JSC signed an agreement with the Spanish INTECSA Ingeniera Industrial SA and the Japanese Mitsubishi Corporation. The project will be implemented with a soft loan from ADB.
By 2025, with the participation of foreign contractors, it is planned to build two new combined cycle plants at the Talimarjan TPP. After the implementation of the project, the capacity of the power plant will be expanded by 900 MW.
This means an additional generation of 7.2 billion kWh of electricity per year. The received energy will allow to supply consumers in the Samarkand and Bukhara regions, pumping stations on the Karshi canal on a stable basis.
Thanks to the use of highly efficient technologies, the new units will save 520 million cubic meters of gas annually. Atmospheric emissions compared to current technologies will be reduced by 1,500 tons.
