“We managed to unite the best specialists of France and Uzbekistan for the exhibition in the Louvre” – Gayane Umerova

On November 23, the first exhibition of Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage will be held at the Louvre Museum in Paris.

Gayane Umerova, executive director of the Fund for Developing Culture and Art under the Cabinet of Ministers, spoke about the project of the first exhibition of Uzbekistan in the Louvre.

According to her, the exhibition is the main form of international cultural exchange, which is the communication and integration of different cultures in the global context.

“We managed to unite the best specialists of France and Uzbekistan to implement the project of the first exhibition of Uzbekistan in the Louvre.

This exhibition covering the period of almost two thousand years reveals the rich history and heritage of our country to foreign visitors.

The exhibition is the main form of international cultural exchange, which is the communication and integration of different cultures in a global context.

It is natural that exhibitions in Paris will further expand the foundation's mission to preserve and promote our culture, as well as create a solid foundation for our future bilateral cooperation,” Gayane Umerova said.

The exhibition tells the story of the Great Silk Road and covers more than two thousand years. The exhibition will present 168 museum exhibits, in particular, 137 from 13 museums of Uzbekistan, as well as 31 of the most valuable exhibits from the world’s leading museums, most of which are being shown for the first time.

The exhibition will last until March 6 next year.
