Anti-smuggling department prevents illegal import of mobile devices worth 2 billion soums
The devices are not registered in the UZIMEI system.

Employees of the anti-smuggling department stopped a Mercedes-Benz truck and inspected it. As a result, they found 484 mobile phones of 19 models worth 1.13 billion soums in a specially made part of the car trunk.
Another similar case involved a Captiva car. When inspecting the vehicle, 270 mobile phones of 9 different models worth 621 million soums were found. They were imported into the country illegally.
Also, anti-smuggling department officers checked a Cobalt car in the Pop district, Namangan region. They found in the car 138 mobile devices of 4 different models. When examining the housing of the detained driver, 17 more phones of the same type were found. 155 units of mobile phones with a total value of 503.750 million soums were seized as material evidence.

Currently, an investigation is ongoing.
