The incident happened in the Tashlak district of Fergana. On December 5, the senior lieutenant, after night duty, did not arrive at the police department for a morning briefing and did not answer phone calls. He was later found injured in a Spark car parked by the canal.
According to the Fergana region DIA, he shot himself in the head with a service weapon.
The wounded inspector was taken to the nearest hospital and placed in a coma.
