11,500 liters of gasoline leaked from Angren oil base due to a burst of pipe 

The cause of the incident was the freezing and cracking of the 5,000 cubic meter reservoir pipe.

Videos of an accident at the Angren oil base, where people were pouring gasoline into containers and taking it away, were circulated on social networks. The management of the enterprise commenyed on the incident.

“On December 10 of this year, at approximately 20:10, the tap of the 5000 m (cubic) capacity (reservoir) siphon No. 20 in the territory of Angren oil base was frozen due to a drop in air temperature. As a result, AI-80 gasoline fuel product in capacity (11,500 liters) was spilled,” the information service of the Tashkent regional administration quoted head of the enterprise, D.Azimov, as saying. 

It is noted that the accident was eliminated by workers of the plant on the same day, at 20:45.

Although the official information specifically stated that no one was seriously harmed, one of the videos shared on Telegram channels showed that the clothes of one of those who came to collect the gasoline flowing from the pipeline were burnt. The fire is said to have started when the man decided to smoke a cigarette after getting petrol and his clothes, which were splashed with petrol, caught fire unexpectedly.
