Media: Two branches of the cancer center won’t be put up for auction
After public objections, branches of the Republican Oncology Center in Tashkent city and Tashkent region became immovable. According to the Kun.uz source, the buildings of two branches will be withdrawn from auction.
According to the source, only the building of the Republican Oncology Center will be sold at the auction. The center will move to the newly built oncology complex.
The Tashkent city and Tashkent region branches of the center will remain in place.
It should be recalled that the government of Uzbekistan decided to sell the land and buildings of the Republican Oncology Center and its Tashkent city and Tashkent region branches by secret decisions.
The sale of these three hospitals became public knowledge after the announcement of the auction, which caused objections.
It should be added that the building of the Republican Oncology Center, which is being sold, was renovated in 2019, and new buildings were built on the territory of the center. There was no answer from the authorities to the question why billions of state funds were spent and additional constructions were made, since they will be sold soon.
The center will move to a new oncological complex under construction in Almazar district. The complex is scheduled to be commissioned in May 2023. The order for construction was granted to Mimar Group without a tender, with a closed decision.
