Uzbekistan to reduce the number of ministries and civil servants
“The number of ministries and departments will be reduced from the current 61 to 28,” the President said during his speech addressing the parliament on December 20.
In the first stage, the ministries will be reformed, and the government’s work style will also change radically.
“First of all, the number of ministries and agencies will be reduced from the current 61 to 28. Now each ministry is responsible for the implementation of the state policy in the relevant field and leads the committees, agencies and inspections within the network,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
The number of civil servants will be reduced by about 30-35 percent.
