Energy Ministry comments on reports about possible gasoline price declines
Some social network users have circulated news that liquefied gas cylinders installed on vehicles would be removed and all cars would be transferred to gasoline use. Reports also said that the gasoline price would drop to 4,300-4,400 soums. The Ministry of Energy refuted the rumors and told Kun.uz that these reports are false.
The voice message circulated in the Telegram messenger says the reason for suspending the use of gas cylinders is the rising number of car explosions. It also adds that as a result of this move, gasoline prices would drop.
Kun.uz contacted the Ministry of Energy to receive a comment on the news. The ministry official told us that the information in the voice message is false and noted that there are no such initiatives at the moment.
It should be reminded that starting December 13 AI-80 gasoline prices dropped from 6,800 to 5,700 soums at Uzbekneftegaz branches. However, there are long queues at petrol stations for cheap gasoline.
