Senate of Oliy Majlis to convene for next plenary session on Dec 27

The meeting will consider priority areas arising from the presidential address to the Parliament, as well as the laws “On the State Budget for 2023”, “On Restricting the Distribution and Consumption of Alcohol and Tobacco Products” and other legislative acts.

The Council of the Senate of Oliy Majlis adopted a resolution to convene the thirty-sixth plenary session on December 27, the Senate press service reported.

At this plenary session, which will be held in the form of videoconferencing, it is planned to discuss a number of issues.

Among them are priority areas arising from the Address of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan, as well as the laws “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2023”, “On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2022”, “On the Prevention of Offenses”, “On the Accreditation of Conformity Assessment Bodies”, “On Restricting the Distribution and Use of Alcohol and Tobacco Products”.

Along with this, at the next plenary meeting it is also planned to consider the laws “On technical regulation”, “On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on the transfer of convicts (Tashkent, March 29, 2022)” and “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

In addition, the senators will discuss the work carried out to further improve the infrastructure of mahallas, as well as questions about the implementation in 2022 of the Strategy for achieving gender equality in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030 and the approval of comprehensive measures for its implementation in 2023.

The plenary session also provides for the approval of resolutions of the Council of the Senate of Oliy Majlis.
