Media: Health Ministry fired the whistleblowers of “Dok-1 Maks” incident

As the source reported, in accordance with the conclusion of the ministerial working group that investigated this scandalous incident, the following were fired:

1. S.Muminov, deputy head of the health department of Samarkand region for motherhood and childhood protection;
2. S.Rasulov, Chief Specialist of the Department of Maternal and Child Health Development of the Health Directorate of Samarkand Region;
3. M.Azizov, Director of the Samarkand Region Children’s Multidisciplinary Medical Center;
4. B.Ganiyev, Hemodialysis specialist of Samarkand Region Children’s Multidisciplinary Medical Center;
5. Kh.Muzaffarov, head of Almazar Family Medical Center affiliated to Taylak District Medical Association;
6. U.Makhmudov, family doctor of Almazar Family Medical Center affiliated to Taylak District Medical Association;
7. M.Siddikova, midwife of Almazar Family Medical Center affiliated to Taylak District Medical Association.

It is unknown to what extent the two officials working in the regional health department on this list are guilty of this incident, but Samarkand is not the only region where the “Dok-1 Maks” drug is sold. That is, not all 18 children who died in a medical institution in Samarkand are from Samarkand. About half of these children were brought to Samarkand after being treated in a hospital in another region and falling into a difficult situation. If the deterioration of the children’s condition is directly related to “Dok-1 Maks”, the source says that the dismissal of an official from the department is not the solution.

And his dismissal will only serve to break down real doctors like him. Now, no one can go to work at the center, many good specialists want to resign,” the source said.

The spokesperson of the Health Ministry, Furkat Sanayev, refrains from giving complete information about the seven people who were fired.

According to the Kun.uz source, these seven officials will not talk about their dismissal even if a journalist comes with a camera. They are INSTRUCTED to work for several months – until the incident of 18 children who died due to “Dok-1 Maks” is forgotten. Allegedly, they are WARNED that if they talk about the original situation, they may be banned from working in the system completely and further discredited.
