On December 21, 2022, the President signed the decree “On measures to effectively organize the activities of the executive authorities of the republic as part of the administrative reform of the new Uzbekistan”.

In the document, the Civil Service Development Agency, together with interested ministries and departments, was instructed to take organizational and legal measures by February 1, 2023 to organize remote work in government agencies and introduce a flexible working time system in agreement with the employer (for example, working hours will be organized from 10:00 to 19:00, etc.).

Relevant departments should prepare a list of functions that civil servants can perform remotely.

In addition, to organize remote work and ensure information security, the authorities intend to develop special software (platform).

Whether among the ministries that are accustomed to working 12 hours a day, there are those who want to implement remote work and a flexible working time system is still unknown.
