Ambulance drivers in Tashkent record a video message about fines
A video showing ambulance drivers complaining about fines has gone viral on social media.
“We, the ambulance drivers, are being imposed fines. The amount of the fine is huge, we have no way to pay such an amount. The salary is not enough. This is only in the Chilanzar district,” a male voice-over says.
As it became known, the drivers were fined for speeding, driving on a red traffic light, crossing the corresponding lanes and the stop line.
“There are so many traffic jams,” another voice-over says.
Drivers stressed that under such circumstances they would always be late for emergency calls.
According to the press service of the MIA Traffic Safety Department, on November 1, 2022, with the participation of the head of the traffic police department and the head of the ambulance service center, as well as responsible employees of the motor transport department of the Health Ministry, a meeting was organized to eliminate emerging problems in cases of violations of traffic rules recorded by special devices.
“The driver of an ambulance may deviate from the requirements of certain rules in the manner prescribed by paragraph 25 of the traffic rules. In this case, upon presentation of documents confirming the fulfillment of urgent official duties when a car is registered through special cameras, the administrative offense of drivers is recognized as committed in cases of emergency, and the administrative case is terminated in accordance with Article 271 of the Administrative Responsibility Code.
The video that has been circulating on social media is currently being studied. Additional information will be provided based on the results.
